arrive early in entebbe > met by guide and driven through uganda’s rolling green hills to lake mburo national park > spend the afternoon relaxing, or paddle on the lake in a dug out canoe, listening to hippos wallow > optional late afternoon game drive > overnight at mantana lake mburo tented camp

guided bush walk before breakfast at camp > head through the highlands to kabale > lunch > journey to bwindi impenetrable national park, home to the mountain gorilla > overnight gorilla forest camp

gorilla tracking > sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male: the silverback > afternoon guided walk on the munyaga river trail > overnight at gorilla forest camp or volcanoes bwindi camp

leave bwindi passing through the southern sector of the queen elizabeth national park known as ishasha, famed for its tree-climbing lions > overnight mweya safari lodge or ishasha wilderness camp

chimp trek in kyambura gorge > guided walk in the mysterious maramagambo forest with its strangler figs, giant screw palms, and wildlife of its own > lunch at mweya lodge > afternoon a boat trip on the kazinga channel > experience wildlife up close where hippos huff and spray mere feet away, buffalo linger in the shallows > overnight at mweya safari lodge or isasha wilderness camp

pre-breakfast “sunrise game drive” to see elephant, water hog, lion, hyena, uganda kob, waterbuck and bushbuck > depart queen elizabeth national park via the eastern gate to mbarara and kampala > safari guide will take you to the theatre craft market to buy local crafts and souvenirs or to the Kasubi Tombs to learn more about Buganda's royal history > overnight at emin pasha hotel
