In a secret world away from the madding crowd, in the heart of the Luberon Natural Park, the Bastide de Marie combines edgy design with a rustic renaissance. It is the Provence we dream of but thought we’d lost- eat food full of sunshine, drink wine for laughter and hasten to market!
The Bastide has 8 rooms and 6 suites and is surrounded by 15 hectares of vineyards. Honey is from the local beekeeper, goat’s cheese from a small producer nearby, black tomatoes from the organic farmer retained by the Bastide, and the wines are of course de la Domaine de Marie. The furniture is authentic Provençal from the surrounding markets, the linen is from the wonderful Edith Mezard in Lumieres and the plates are made in the pottery at Uzes.

A few steps from la Bastide de Marie, across the vineyard, stand two magnificent Provençal guest houses.
The artifacts and the painted furniture found in local markets, the subtle colours, the voluptuous shapes, the light streaming in through the shutters, create a typical convivial Provençal atmosphere.
Grenache is a gorgeous renovated XVIIIth century Bastide with all the charm of a Provençal farm, set in 15 hectares of vineyards, overlooking lavender fields and cherry orchards. The interior is very elegant comprising a dining room, a small living room with a library, DVD player, satellite and stereo, another living room with a fireplace and a well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs, there are five bedrooms (most are equipped with TV, CD player and stereo), four bathrooms and one shower room.
