accommodation

the gliffaes

Gliffaes is matchless: grandly comfortable but as casual and warm as a home. It’s a house for all seasons - not even driving rain could mask its beauty. Wander the 33 acres of stunning gardens and woodland; bask in the sun on the terrace as the River Usk rushes through the valley below.

Membership of the Slow Food movement means local and seasonal food is use as much as possible, and the fish and meat in this area are outstanding.

The Suter family have been welcoming guests here for nearly 60 years. Rooms are decorated with a mix of fresh, bold and elegant fabrics, furniture is chosen to suit and original Welsh paintings are becoming a feature. Fisherfolk can cast to their hearts’ content on a prime 2.5 mile stretch overlooked, perhaps, by red kite and buzzards.
